Shlep: The Prelude
After an extended prelude/preface/crescendo, June 8th has come. Bikes are taken apart and delicately packed, panniers are sealed, and Lynne Schwitz's famous banana bread and energy bars are still warm from the oven. While these past 3 days in New Jersey have been great, this time tomorrow we will be struggling in the Prague airport to assemble our bikes, no doubt surly at each other, while waiting for our Czech guide to shepherd us through the streets of the old city. The only work left to do before we leave is figure out which books to bring with us and how we are going to fit 25 lbs of baked goods into our packs.
