What constitutes a schlep?

Schlep - 1. (v.tr.) To carry clumsily or with difficulty; lug. 2 (v.intr.) To move slowly or laboriously. 3. (n) An arduous journey. 4. (n) A clumsy or stupid person.

All of these certainly apply to the trip. We are two clumsy, stupid people about to laboriously and slowly lug ourselves, gear, and bikes on an arduous journey. Come schlep with us.

  4. Biggest Chester says a schlep is like walking across a depressing Wal-Mart parking lot on a sweltering mid-summer afternoon ,with everyone else at the beach, lugging bags full of detergent and Depends watching a teenager with terminal acne gather up the shopping carts.

Shlepping is driving from Ct. to New Jersey in lots of traffic, in the rain. It was the start of the greatest schlep.
